What exactly are solar-powered blinds?
Motorised blinds with a small solar cell that charges an internal battery from daylight. That battery runs the motor, so the blind opens and closes by remote or app — with no connection to your mains electricity.
Do they need wiring or an electrician?
No. Because the motor runs from the solar-charged battery, there are no cables to chase into the wall and no electrician needed. Fitting is a straightforward bracket-and-fix job.
Will I have to keep charging them?
In most rooms, no — daylight keeps the battery topped up on its own. A blind on a very dark or north-facing window may need an occasional USB top-up once or twice a year.
Can you make blinds for my VELUX skylight or conservatory?
Yes. Skylights and conservatories are our speciality. Give us your roof-window size code or your measurements and we make the blind to fit, with solar or motorised operation.
Do you supply only, or fit as well?
Both. Most of our made-to-measure blinds are simple to fit yourself, but if you would rather not work at height we offer a measuring and fitting service — just mention it with your enquiry.
